I’m stepping up to defeat mental illness!
The CAMH One Brave Night for Mental Health challenge is a Canada-wide challenge to inspire hope for Canadians living with mental illness.
Last year I embarked on this challenge with a group of friends to raise money and awareness for those struggling with mental illness. While our team raised close to $5000, the night sharing and supporting each other and laughing along the way healed the group of us as well and was so good for the soul. I am blessed to have a supportive family and friendships that help me when I need a boost, though I know that many are not as lucky and for so many more the strongest family and friendships isn't enough. Since last year I have had a few friends whose older sons have spoke about their struggles with mental illness and I can't help but think about "what if" for my own boys. So this year I hope that we can raise more than $5000 and that my boys will learn a little more about talking opening and leaning on us and each other.
By making a donation to my One Brave Night, you are helping CAMH improve access to care, conduct research to find better treatments, and build more spaces for healing.
This is our chance to step up! If you cannot make a monetary donation, words or support to our team or anyone around you will mean just as much!
