From now until Friday, May 10th, I'm showcasing a song written by myself, Lisa Hartt & Don Graham called "Don't Tell me How I Feel "or "Christopher's Song" in support of mental health! It is written from his POV as I was close to him and know his story intimately. He was a brilliant light that never had a chance to shine.
CAMH One Brave Night is a chance to share a piece of myself with the world for a great cause. I am excited to express my passion and creativity, so we can inspire hope for the one in five Canadians who experience mental illness every year.
Christopher died in 2015 of causes related to mental illness with which had suffered all his adult life since the age of 17. Nothing that he tried, including programs, anti psychotic drugs, shock treaments, group and individual therapy, group homes, living at home, living on the street, going to school and all the love and support in the world was able to rectify his torment for very long. He was diagnosed with many mental disorders over the years and finally sociopathic narcissism, none of which were definitive or helpful. We need to find a way to help these tormented souls and funded research will help. Please donate to CAMH for this outreach.
Please donate today and help me reach my fundraising goal.
Together we will break down stigma, fund innovative research, and provide access to new and promising treatments for people living with mental illness.
