It would be tempting to say my journey began with my diagnosis, just over a decade ago. But while that was the start of my treatment and recovery, it was the end of a very long, very painful period of life that, at the time, I didn't even know I was living through.
It was a period of silence and of confusion. Of self-loathing and misanthropy. All because no one ever talked about things that I was feeling, so of course I felt alone in the world.
I have vowed to never let my children feel that way. One Brave Night is a chance for me to do something a bit bigger.
Please join me in stream starting at sunset on May 10, 2019 (8:27pm EST for my location.) Donations help. But what we need to do is talk.
No one is alone.
Together we will break down stigma, fund innovative research, and provide access to new and promising treatments for people living with mental illness.
