The CAMH One Brave Night for Mental Health challenge is a Canada-wide challenge to inspire hope for Canadians living with mental illness.
I took the #OneBraveNight challenge because I want to inspire hope for people living with mental illness now – and to defeat mental illness. By making a donation to my One Brave Night, you are helping CAMH improve access to care, conduct research to find better treatments, and build more spaces for healing.
For many years I have been battling with Borderline Personality Disorder. Through all my crazy mood swings, impulsiveness and struggle to find some sense of self, the hardest part of battling a mental illness is finding help. I have first handedly experienced the struggle to find help. I've been placed on a 2 YEAR waiting list to get the proper treatment I need. Sometimes, it feels like the waiting period will never end. Living with a mental illness isn't easy and is often misunderstood or unseen. It is probably the hardest thing I've had to battle through. For anyone going through a mental illness or simply just want to talk, I'm here whenever you need. On April 6th, I will be hosting a games night/movie marathon to mark the end of the fundraiser. You will get a chance to meet my dog Nimmy, who has been one of the best forms of therapy.
This is our chance to step up! With your donation, we can improve the quality of our mental health care and finally make a CHANGE. BY APRIL 6TH, 2018, I WILL DONATE 10% OF THE AMOUNT I HAVE RAISED ON TOP OF WHAT IS ALREADY RAISED. So please donate generously and help me reach my goal.
