CAMH One Brave Night for Mental Health™ is a Canada-wide challenge to share one night — April 6 — to inspire hope for the one in five Canadians living with mental illness in any given year, including the 500,000 Canadians who are away from work on any given day due to mental illness. According to a Ipsos reportⱡ, 60% of Canadians believe that companies should support mental health. By participating in CAMH One Brave Night, your company will help defeat mental illness and inspire hope for all Canadians.

There are many ways to customize CAMH One Brave Night for your company — the challenge is virtual, flexible and can be built to fit with your company’s culture. Use this checklist and this poster to help shape your challenge and get your colleagues or staff excited about getting involved!
For the first 150 teams with 5 or more participants by March 16, we will send the Team Captain a FREE team kit**!
Plus, to support your internal wellness initiatives, we’ve created a wellness page that you can share with your entire team and employee base. If you have more than 10 team members by February 23, we will provide a Mental Health Lunch & Learn session for your team via videoconference (or in person, where possible), to educate your staff on workplace mental health.

How other companies have created their One Brave Night:
Use the weeks leading up to CAMH One Brave Night on April 6 to engage your team and colleagues in fundraising activities to drive awareness and results:
- Bake sales, dress down days, baby photo contest, car wash, etc.
- Inter-departmental/office challenges
- Challenge other companies in your industry
- Employer matching (i.e. each OBN participant who raises $250, your company will match the donation)
- Donate a portion or proceeds of sales towards OBN and add to your corporate team total
On April 6, here are some ideas to make marking the end of the challenge meaningful:
- Customize staff t-shirts/hats to increase awareness of your support of mental health
- Team building exercises/activities such as: team breakfast or lunch, public speaker, offsite escape room, obstacle course, cooking challenge, ping pong challenges, car wash, board/video game challenges
- Physical activities: yoga/step/fitness class, a walk at lunch or after work
