Mental Health is Health

This fundraiser supports CAMH, Canada's leading mental health hospital.
Did you know that 1 in 5 Canadians experience mental illness in any given year? And that 4,000 Canadians die by suicide every year—almost 11 people per day?
And yet, many don't realize that, in its most severe forms, mental illness can be fatal.
Men and women experience many of the same mental health disorders, but their willingness to talk about their challenges and feelings are very different. The perceived standards of masculinity and stigmas surrounding men seeking support for mental health disorders continue to present challenges. In scenarios where a lack of conversation surrounding mental health related challenges exist, the absence of communication may lead to a worsening of underlying conditions and to a more acute state of the presenting disorder.
With your support, we can change how the world sees and treats mental illness. We can break down stigma and lead important conversations about suicide prevention. We can give people time to get the help they need; families time to heal; and researchers and clinicians time to make breakthroughs and offer new treatment options.
You are invited to join us Saturday April 1st, 2023 at AK Fitness Studio from 2-5PM, our first ever fundraising event in support of CAMH.
The event will consist of a fun fitness challenge. You can put together a team of 4, or arrive as and individual. The event will involve a variety of functional movements. No expectations, no pressure. Our goal is to have fun, get a good workout, see more smiles, and raise money for a great cause.
We simply ask for a minimum of $25-$50 per participant, which will cover your entry into the fitness challenge, the official event T-shirt, goodies, snacks, food, cocktails and some prizes. All the proceeds go directly to CAMH.
If you are planning to attend the event please write (GETACTIVE) beside your recognition name on your donation.
When: 2PM - 5PM, April 1st, 2023
Where: AK Fitness Studio (44 Prince Andrew place, Toronto, M3C2H4)
Together, we can brighten the future for men's mental health.

It is not a Joke!
The purpose of the event is to raise funds for men's metal health. Create awareness and a safe space for men to speak up about their challenges and problems where do feel judged but encouraged.
