This year I am participating in The Sunrise Challenge to support the groundbreaking mental health research and suicide prevention initiatives happening at CAMH. Mental Health impacts 1 in 5 Canadians and alongside my wife Sandi, we believe strongly in investing in mental health and ending the stigma that has long been associated with mental illness.
The Sunrise Challenge encourages Canadians to wake up before sunrise for one week straight from May 29-June 2, 2023 and do something positive for your mental health. This could be anything from meditation, to exercise, to reading a book or writing in a journal. The important thing is setting some time aside right at the start of your day and doing something positive to support your mental health. Not only will you be doing good for your body and mind but participants in the Sunrise Challenge will also be raising money to support CAMH.
Whether you form your own team, join a team, or donate I encourage everyone to join me in participating in the 2023 CAMH Sunrise Challenge.
The time is now to rise together and stop mental illness from destroying lives and to end the silence, stigma, and shame that still surround mental illness today.
