Gift of Light was founded in 2008 thanks to the generosity of our donors and continues today as a 100% donor-funded program. Gifts of Light works with patients, families, and front-line clinical staff to identify the patient wellness gaps in our system, with the goal of improving the patient experience.

Over 14,000 patients each year benefit from the everyday essentials, unique activities and meaningful experiences provided by this patient-centred program.

Today, when you support our Gifts of Light program, you provide practical, meaningful gifts that meet the unique needs of patients at CAMH.

To give a gift on behalf of a loved one, follow the eCard prompts when you add an item to your cart. Alternatively, you can donate on behalf of someone on our donation forms by clicking "Yes, I'd like to give on behalf of a loved one or in memory" and filling in the eCard fields.

You have the option of sending your recipient one of the following:

1. An eCard, personalized with your message, scheduled for the date you would like your recipient to receive your gift.

2. A printed card that you create by filling in our eCard form, pressing preview and printing from your browser.

After you add an item to your cart, you will be able to see all eCard designs and choose the one that is right for you.

Add an item to your cart and choose to send an eCard. Fill in the form as if you were going to send an eCard. Once you get to your cart, click "preview" and a new window will open to display your card and message. Press CTRL + P and your browser will open a print dialogue.

When you select an item on the Giving Hub, you are donating to CAMH Foundation, which makes your gift eligible for a tax receipt if it is $20 or more. To qualify for a tax receipt for this calendar year, your online donation must be completed before midnight on December 31.

If you have given your gifts online, your tax receipt will be emailed to you.

Alternatively, if you made your gift over the phone or mailed in a cheque, your tax receipt will be mailed to you if you have not provided an email address. To qualify for a tax receipt for the current calendar year, your mailed donation must be postmarked in the same year.

We require your email address so that we can confirm your online transaction and email you your tax receipt.
