As associate scientist in the Slaight Family Centre for Youth in Transition at CAMH, his work focuses on how to improve the symptoms of those experiencing psychotic spectrum disorders. Dr. Abigail Ortiz shares her insight on wearable technology—like smartwatches and fitness trackers—and how they can be used to help manage care. As the Head of the Bipolar Integrated Care Pathways at CAMH, Dr. Ortiz’s research focuses on understanding mood regulation and bipolar disorder through specialized techniques and how we may be able to forecast episodes of mental illness.

For today's Sunrise and Shine on CAMH we bring you Dr. Colin Hawco whose work looks at how targeted brain stimulation is paving the way for personalized treatment. As a scientist in the Brain Health Imaging Centre at CAMH, Dr. Hawco is looking at how we may get a clearer understanding of illnesses like schizophrenia and depression.

Today’s Sunrise and Shine on CAMH video features Dr. Alexia Polillo, a Project Scientist with the Slaight Centre for Youth in Transition at CAMH. Today’s Sunrise and Shine on CAMH features Dr. Marta Maslej, a staff scientist with The Krembil Centre for Neuroinformatics at CAMH, and co-lead of the Predictive Care Team. Her team uses interdisciplinary methods to understand how AI impacts mental health care and ensuring it is integrated in a responsible and equitable way. Today she shares her insight on how the integration of AI will impact the way that patients and providers experience care.
